How long does it take to get CNA certified?

CNA certification can take anywhere from a few weeks to a few months. Some courses offer full-time options while others provide part-time. According to the Texas Health and Human Services, CNAs must complete at least 100 hours of training. This training covers 60 hours of classroom training (not involving direct resident care) and 40 hours of hands-on resident care in a nursing facility. When searching for schools near you, consider the following; approval/accreditation of the school, school requirements, location, cost, and time needed for completion. Accreditation is significant for students needing to transfer credits in the future, advancing degrees, and quality of a course. Be sure to check if you meet a school's requirements before applying. Many schools have a set minimum age, deposit, or education requirements, so be sure to call ahead regarding more in-depth information! When determining the fee of a nursing school or program, include additional fees. Textbooks, uniforms, supplies, and exams are some of the expenses that are required.

"Whatever you can do, or dream you can, begin it. Boldness has genius, magic, and power in it."

Johann Wolfgang Von Goethe
